We own at Star Island and quite enjoy it. (We also own at Grande Vista and Star Island isn't quite in the Marriott category.) The units are large .. if somewhat gaudy in decor. The location is not ideal .. on a busy, "strip mall" street .. but the resort itself is away from the bustle of the street. And while there is no dining at the resort, there is a very nice TGIF's right at the entrance and many, many dining options nearby.
The staff is lovely and accomodating. The pool is large and fun, if crowded. (The hot tub is not particularly hot, nor large ... alas. But you have a jacuzzi in your suite.)
All told, I'm sure you'll have a fine time. Enjoy.
