My wife and I are looking to sell our timeshare (it was gifted to us several years ago, and we've never used it), and have come across a company called St. Maarten Timeshare Resales. Has anyone bought or sold timeshare weeks with this company, or know anyone who has? Their web site makes them sound reasonable (no scare tactics or outrageous guarantees), and while the 25% commission seems a little steep, I get the impression it's the standard in this industry.

Any information people have on this company would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Just pay the commission AFTER the sale from the proceeds. DO NOT PAY UPFRONT or there is no way they will sell it.

Sound advice -- thanks. One of the reasons we're thinking of going with them is that their contract does not include any up front fees.

I haven't bought or sold with them. However i was in contact with them about a possible purchase. They (Hans) was in constant contact with me. He answered all of my questions in an appropriate manner. I was going to place a bid on the property but another bid with someone else was accepted. Hope this aids in some small manner

Thank you for your response. Sounds like they treated you reasonably, which is all I'm looking for.

Humu,
Be cautioned by positive confidence you're getting from this string. Since we all know well that supply of re-sales far exceeds demand ---- the business formula would motivate the agent to "jump and respond" to any inquiry on a re-sale that they have listed --- leaving the potential "buyer" feeling great about how they were handled. On the other hand, you dealing with the agent as a "seller" might not be handled the same way.
Supply and Demand rules attitude too!
You would be wise to get input from a "seller" who had previously done business with this company.

Would love to know how you did?

Yes, it would be great to get a seller's perspective as well. But I'll take what I can get. My primary motivation for my message was to make sure this was a legitimate company -- if someone had a bad experience with this company, the title of this thread would have drawn a quick response.
