which one will be a more desirable resort when built?

St. Thomas I believe is just a little more than St. Kitt right now.

I was told St. Kitt is second best Marriott due to its limited number of units (88) and location, I wonder which one is the #1 Marriott?

I am also reading a lot of people were able to trade into Marriott Aruba, so perhaps Caribbean Marriott is not the most demanded area of Marriott resorts.

And to those experienced Marriott owners, is there an advantage in buying pre-contruction? I mean is the price good now or should I wait and buy resale in a couple of years.

IMHO I think St. Thomas only because of ease of access. St. Kitts is harder to get to and airfares are higher for that reason. Thus taking a family to St Kitts will cost more. In addition there is lots more to do on St. Thomas than St. Kitts (especially shopping)

I vote St.Thomas just based on cost of transportation lower cost means more people will want to go there. I thought once I would like to go someplace different for my 15 yr Anniversary. I looked into Aruba ( I live in Ca.) the airfare was $1500/per person. That's $6000.00 for a family of four, unless something dramatic happens like I win a billion dollar lottery and money means nothing we will never be going to Aruba. I think it is much cheaper for midwesteners and east coasters to get there. St. Thomas though is easier a cheap flight to Florida then a sale flight to St.T ...doable. Pam

My concern about safety nixed St. Thomas for my family, but St. Kitt's looked pretty good in that regard. Then the non-lockoff and low incentives to purchase nixed it too. My criteria is to buy direct and only lockoffs that provide a way to get more than 500,000 points before you walk in the door and that means pre-construction right from day 1. However, none on the horizon fit that mold. They will soon, when the real estate slump hits USA.
