Want to book Westin/Florida hotel for March 2009 (not 2008) for 5 nights. Online won't let me, stating not available and when I telephoned I am getting two stories:wall: :

1. Cannot book until 12 months out

2. Book at 18 months out

Does anyone know? Is there a website that declares which time restrictions are in place?

Thank you in advance!

I'd address this in the SPG Section of Flyertalk since they deal with hotel issues more than here. Starwood Lurker works for Starwood and is very good at finding out the details of various rules.

I did try to make a reservation on www.spg.com out in March of 2009. The choices all say "This option is not available for selected dates.", but if you click on the particular hotel's link and then on Book Now you get a selection of rates you can choose (for example at the Westin Diplomat). Some hotels don't show availability, though. It looks like the web site only allows you to look at about 18 months out (up to March 8, 2009 today).

While spg.com will allow reservations up to 18 months in advance, not every hotel will. The individual hotel must have rates loaded in order to be booked. So 18 months is the max. reservation period. 12 months may be a minimum, but I'm not sure. Starwood Lurker could confirm that for you on Flyer Talk.
