Spam filter programs

Unfortunately I'm using Rogers/Yahoo for email and they don't have something as simple as a white list built into their spam filter. They use some sort of filter that marks messages as "BULK" and I created a rule in Outlook Express that sends anything with "BULK" in it to the delete bin - I'm getting between 100-200 messages a day. Unfortunately it keeps marking a number of good emails as "BULK" and I have to page through them to try to find the good stuff anyway. This has become very problematic.

Are folks here using any third party spam filters that actually work well?

Thanks in advance

Before I decided to go with the security package offered by Embarq, I was looking for a free spam blocker myself to replace McAfee. The one I thought might be the most worthwhile to try was Cactus. It's been several months ago, but if I remember correctly it's self learning according to the filters you add. Here's the link.

I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email client, and I've found its built-in 'trainable' spam filtering to work very well. It is a good replacement for Outlook Express. If you are using Outlook (not Outlook EXPRESS), you may not find TBird to meet your needs as it does replace the Outlook calendar function. There IS a separate calendar add-on, but it has a lower level of integration with the mail client
