SpaceBanking and Trade Value.

Yesterday, I spacebanked a week (March 25, 2007) at a Florida on the Beach Resort. I checked the trade Value yesterday and today. The Trade Value seems to be about the same. Not very good! Not as good as last year for the same week spacebanked about the same time . But the week I spacebanked is no longer available.

My 2 questions are:

Why should RCI not up grade the Trade Value of any week when is it taken within 24 hours of spacebanking?

Is this fair to your RCI membership?

Since I have 2 Resorts I can use for spacebanking timeshare weeks, I can see how each one trades against each other. Last year the 2 weeks from each Resort traded the same.

This year the Florida Resort is trading at less than ½ the value.

The only week listed on RCI on line on the day I spacebanked was MY WEEK. There were no other weeks listed for this resort for March 25, 2007.

By the next day the week was gone. Supply and Demand? How much better can you get than this? I did not check to see if it was also placed in the RCI’s Rental Pool.

With this Inconsistent trade values from RCI I will have to reconsider Spacebanking weeks from this Resort ( I have 5 weeks) with RCI. I have membership in II and can spacebank this resort with II.

And with II I can see what Resorts are available before I spacebank the week.

Trading Power considers demand. Demand for some weeks can so far exceed supply that many many requests go unfilled every year. The demand for others may be high enough that the units are assigned immediately, but we come closer to filling all of the requests we ultimately receive.

If you'd like for us to take a look at the week in question for you, please send an e-mail to feedback@rci.com. The Communications Team will try to get to the bottom of why the Trading Power is not what you expected.
