Still far too early to head down there. The heat index in Naples is pushing 100 degrees this weekend. Better wait until the temps are back down in the 60s.

According to the local traffic I thought more people were here already. I drive 45 minutes to work everyday out of season. In season its probably gonna ramp up to 2 hours. OH MAN this isnt even the worst of it LOL

I'm a snowbird (Naples area) and we normally come down mid-October and stay until end of April (have to do 6 months for residency), but this year I came down in mid-September in order to work on a few home projects I wanted to get done. It has been hot, but it hasn't bothered me too much since all my projects are inside, but when I have to go out to the garage -- wow! Weather forecast for this week looks like we will get a bit of relief from the heat.

Yeah they made a huge urban planning mistake in Naples and Fort Meyers by configuring the urban environment so you are forced to drive everywhere. They should have took a lesson from the Villages and provided alternatives to driving a car.

Enjoy our new Tropical Depression 14. It should hit Tampa or south by Wed. It becomes a hurricane (probably Milton) by Monday. Advise you snowbirds to stay home until next weekend at the earliest. Rain starts this afternoon and we've already closed our shutters so we don't have to close them in the rain.

Uh no. They refuse to plan and are very agreeable to change any zoning laws to accommodate builders.

Looks like quite a few of the HGV are now closed and under evacuation orders.. Orlando locations are open

My friend and four out of town girlfriends were at Marriott crystal shores on Marco and were forced to evacuate back to our subdivision in Estero. We live in the one area that was removed wfter Ian into zone A although it has never flooded.

It was about 6 hours of wind. And rain. Ooooh a shingle flew off a house and their leaves on my car. We got lucky in Lehigh Acres. I forgot my log in info so I had to start another account, this is SkyyBluePlaya at home

We live in the Bay Area, so no need to snowbird. We go to WDW a couple of times a year and have family in South FL. So those are our visits.
