We have owned our 2 bedroom lockout, garden view for about 20 years. This past winter I asked Marriott if they would like to buy it back and they said yes for $6,500. So instead we listed it with a realtor for $10,500 and they took it it as their first right of refusual last month. We are happy campers and now able to go elsewhere on the island we love so much!
I have a friend who wants to sell their Marriott too. It sounds like your realtor did the job. It would be nice to have contact info for the realtor you used. Thanks.
For Maui, I would contact Wally at Timeshare Resales Hawaii. He's excellent, flat fee, no overcharges. My family has bought and sold with TRH multiple times over many years.

I would say these two companies - Timeshare Resales Hawaii and Syed at Advantage Vacations - are the best Hawaii specialists in the resale timeshare world. I would not hesitate to buy or sell with either.
I sold a non-Marriott unit through a TRH agent in 2014 and got more than similar units were selling for on Redweek and elsewhere. As a buyer, however, their listing prices do seem a bit higher than Syed and others for comparable listings. I worked with another one of their agents when I was trying to buy our Maui Ocean Club unit in 2018, but the seller he had wouldn't negotiate much on price, so we passed. I haven't bought or sold anything with Syed, but I have talked to him on several occasions about listings. On one, the seller decided not to sell and the other times he simply didn't have the inventory I was looking for. He's great though, and an excellent resource.
