So Many good deals on ebay - how to stop buying?

What's this about "WILL" power ??? I have plenty of that---I "WILL" buy this timeshare; I "WILL" buy that timeshare; etc,; etc....

What I "NEED" is "WON'T" power !!! I "WON'T" buy this timeshare; I "WON'T buy that timeshare !!!!!

Tony

I disagree Tony....little kids never say they want candy, they always NEED candy.

The thrill of the hunt for getting a good deal brings out the gleeful inner child in each of us, therefore I NEED a great timeshare deal !!!

Grow up? Only after they plant me :)

Truth is you are 100% correct. I'm just in denial stage of recovery...

There are good deals on the airlines, too. Last week we booked 4 family members to N.J. for Christmas. They are flying to Atlantic City today on Spirit Airlines for one penny each out of Ft. Meyers and returning 12/31 for $59. each. $60 r/t!

If you change your mind it is not binding.

To the extent that TimeShares are "real property" the agreement needs to be in writting to be enforceable, the auction format does not seem to meet the statute of frauds under the uniform commercial code.

eBay is coy in interpreting this aspect of the uniform comercial code not violating the law by stating the transaction is not binding and not charging a percentage of the auction to avoid running afoul of any state real estate laws that prevent un unlicensed person from 'earning' a percentage of a real estate transaction fee. Their timeshare and real estate fees are structured as advertising fees.

That being said, they do nothing to purge listing text that does state the auction is binding and leaves the feedback system open for retaliation for not completeing an non-binding transaction.

I want to publicly thank Spence and PeelBoy and all you other folks who bid up the price on ebay. All of you are doing a very fine job of saving me money. Keep up the great work!

How often do you think do we bid against each other for a great deal? Are we driving up the price for one another?

Absolutely agree with you. From now on, I will bid everything on my target list but will bid low, like $100 for 60,000 RHC points. Who knows one day everyone of you has fallen asleep or gone on timesharing and I will be the lucky winner?

Timeshare, ebay, RCI, II, SFX, Dae and Tug as well are all too addictive. I even don't have no time to find a new relationship to replace the bruised one. I need Tug Personal.

Relax! You're a long ways from 12 TS. Heck you only have 7 or 8 right now. ;) Unless of course you have snipes in for half dozen or so that you haven't mentioned!

I don't use the snipes programs. Too complicated for me to install.

I unfortunatly choose to be glued to ebay to watch. (What a waste of time).
But it is part of the fun of the chase.

I see another one that interests me - but don't know if I'll bid on it.

I love the idea of causally mentioning it at the pool at the resort. I'll have to try that one.

Auction Sniper

George, part of the excitement of winning is watching the auction for days, bidding in the final seconds, and then winning the bid. Owning 11 1/2 weeks, counting EOY-Even, we really don't need any more timeshares, but we could try the sniper for other items we also don't need, but want anyway... This is too much fun :whoopie:

OK Folks,

I will now tell my deepest secret of timeshare selling. This is a Christmas present for all you who "ate" too much on Ebay this year.

It is....

Sell in the pool (unless it's a ski week).

I have found the best way to sell a warm destination timeshare is just be friendly and talk to others in the pool or at the bar while using the week (or another) at the resort.

Don't be pushy, just let it slip that you are selling a unit at x price vs. y price that the developer charges for the same thing.

If they are interested, they will pursue the topic with you. If not, change the subject and have fun on vacation.

This way you are not a pest and you can still sell the unit. I did this several times this year.

Good luck!!!

John

I just did this in Cancun. I always have my business cards in my mini-wallet in case I strike up a conversation about timesharing. I have gotten several rentals for my Disney Timeshares at the pools and waiting on lines. This week I think I sold my ski week to another pool person planning her winter vacation.
