Hey all - has anyone ever used smartcruiser.com to book a cruise? How did it go? Thanks.

No but I did look at their site recently. They also have a military version. The problem with cruises is you have to know what you are getting, where it's located and what the actual cost will be. The different categories (locations) drive me nuts so I usually pull up a deck plan and call an agent. You can use Cruise Compete but, oftentimes, they will hook you with an OV Stateroom at what appears to be a great price. The when you call them the question is where is that room (deck and location) and does it include all taxes and fees. Unless you are willing to take left overs (and on some cruises those are VERY NICE) it's better to book early. Once you get within 60 days then you can get last minute deals but usually the best rooms are still taken. We just booked a cruise through Costco. They beat Carnival's guaranteed lowest price for the exact same room however, we DID NOT pay in full, just put a deposit down - we just transferred the reservation and enjoyed Costco's reduced commission.
