This Hilton guest is not sophisticated. He just wants a clean room and a comfy bed.

I've seen several blogs post this as if Hyatt "lost" something here, but not sure that they fits the available data. As they have purchased Mr. and Mrs. Smith properties, with something like 4X as many locations, I think it more likely that ending the partnership with SLH when Mr. and Mrs. Smith was integrated was always part of the plan and not a "lost" thing.

Conjecture, of course, but not sure why Hyatt would even have wanted this after the purchase.

We do have a Hyatt/SLH stay booked in Croatia in late July and I do hope that things stick that long.

Interesting comparison. If SLH were something that mattered to us, I might consider this. We have one booking that is impacted, but never use them otherwise, so a non-factor for us. In all other ways, Hyatt is far superior for our purposes, so we go that way.

Not sure about that. SLH is on the hotel side of things and HGV is the side that’s bottom feeding.

Hilton and HGV are two separate companies. This SLH partnership is with Hilton Hotels and has zero to do with HGV or its members.

I hear Rusty Parrot is nice near Jackson, Wy. Not too many nice near Yellowstone.

Hermitage Bay is like 2.5 cents per point redemption and has great reviews. But we love Antigua.

Hilton Honors Completes Onboarding 400 SLH Properties

Since the previous announcement in July 2024, Hilton has now expanded its global luxury portfolio with 102 boutique SLH properties available for booking starting tomorrow (September 17) through Hilton’s direct channels.

My wife tried out the Hotel Norman Paris and loved it. We've got a week split between a couple SLH in Belize next year as well as a few days at one in Turks and Caicos. Great addition to Hilton Honors and there seems to be Good standard booking availability so far.

SLH has been part of Extraordinary Escapes at Embarc since 2016, available to members who reached a certain "level" of points purchased directly from the developer. Unfortunately since Hilton took over, it's become difficult to make online bookings and members have to call member services. It's one way to use points when you have a lot of them but not the most effective use (like booking cruises etc).
