Sistine Chapel 360 tour

It's a lot more meaningful to stand silently in the middle of it with binoculars to your eyes and try to take it in like I did a week ago Wednesday. I was surprised. As glorious as the Sistine Chapel is, it's smaller than I imagined it to be.

Do you know where the Pope's secret door is? Go to the end beyond the divider. It's the panel directly above the third candelabra from the left. In the last Pope's full length portrait on the long wall. That's how the Pope would enter and leave unseen to and from the private apartment. Cool, huh?

Wow, that's a very cool site. Jim, it must have been magnificent to see it in person.

Jim, you could have taken me with you! I saw it years ago while in college and was also surprised how small the room is. A very awesome place. I got a little dizzy looking at it with my mouse just now.

I did too. Finally I "figure out" it stops when I release my finger on the mouse  , and did "stop and go" instead of continuous viewing.

Ten years ago, in the Jubilee Year, we went with our Archbishop on a pilgrimage to the Vatican and Italy. We had an after-hours private Word Service in the Sistine Chapel. This brings back cool and sacred memories! :)

Jim, very beautiful, and what a neat experience.
I'm having trouble finding the Pope's secret entrance though. I followed your directions to the candelabra, but the Pope paintings seem to be all on the sides. Maybe it's just too late. :0
