Sirius/XM Radio Coverage in Cancun?

I have a hand held XM Radio that I'm planning to take to Cancun on our stay at RI next week. From what I can tell on the Sirius website, the satellite coverage extends just over the Yucatan Peninsula but just wondered if anyone has any experience in using their Sirius/XM radio while in the Cancun/Riviera Maya region.

I'm at the Royal Islander this week and can report spotty coverage with Sirius/XM. I brought my handheld radio with it's built-in antenna and it doesn't pick-up the sat signal anywhere, even at the beach. The base unit however with the antenna placed on the balcony does pick-up a moderate strength signal. So, I can record and listen while in the villa while it's in the base unit and listen to the recorded content the next day at the pool and/or beach. Not the best situation but it works well enough that I'm glad I brought it.
