I currently have an old Barclays Wyndham Rewards credit card. I get 5 Rewards point for every dollar spent on Club Wyndham maintenance fees. I've read the T & C's for the current cards (non-business cards) and I only see 2 or 4 points being offered for maintenance fees. Does anyone reading this post get more than 4 points per maintenance dollar from the Earner or Earner Plus card?

I have one of the older cards and get 4x points for anything Wyndham (MF, Bonus time, admin fees like moving points) and 2x points for gas and groceries.

I have purposely not gotten the earner card because I have heard I would lose that.

My parents have the Barclays Wyndham Rewards CC and have for decades now. Below is their earning structure.

I believe the last time I looked into it, it was much more beneficial to grab a traditional 2% cash back card and use that. I don't remember the numbers currently, though. Looking at the "new" offer at Barclays, I think it is less then what they are receiving currently.

Well that's interesting and unusual. I still get 5 points per dollar for MF's so I guess that's the best they've ever offered recently. I thought I remember that at some time before I signed up they offered 10 points per dollar spent on Wyndham MF's, but I guess i remember wrong. So then I'm extra happy with the 5 points.

We use the Wyndham Earners Plus card and have for the last several years now. Below is the earning structure. We used to get 5x for MFs on the old card, but switched to the Earners Plus ($75 annual fee), as the 6x on gas (less important these days since my wife drives a Tesla daily), and the 4x on dining/groceries more than offets the 4x vs 5x on the MFs, especially given how much food and dining prices have increased over the past couple of years. We typically earn between 6000-10000 points alone for dining and groceries each month depending on how much we spend. We've built up almost 600k WR points over the past couple of years now, which we plan to use for Vacasa vacation rentals over the next couple of years, in addition to our timesharing.

Thanks for posting that. I imagine you're aware of two additional advantages the Earner Plus has over the old regular card. You get 7500 points each anniversary as opposed to the 6000 I get, and you get the 10% discount on points usage.

I'm going to take a look at my spending pattern over the past year and see if it's a good idea for me to switch.

You probably could have kept the old card, along with the earner plus, and gotten the benefit of both worlds. I believe you can have multiple WR cards, as long as they are different types. For instance, one regular/old/earner, one earner+, one earner business.

The benefits I see on the current offers look bad. I don't see anything mentioning MF, so it would probably just be 1 point per dollar.

Earlier this year, I was thinking of trying to get earner business for 2025, to get Diamond Caesars match, but Caesars' benefits seem weaker now, and there have been rumblings that the match will be no longer this next year.

From what I’ve seen the match for credit card holders will go away, but it’s not clear whether the match for VIP owners will remain or go away.
