It was a more of a traditional high pressure sales pitch, not what we have become accustomed to lately with Vistana. We really didn't even learn anything and it wasted a lot of time.

We couldn't really understand where the value was in what they were offering us. They offered to buy one of our units back and convert it to club points for us. Said it was a great deal and that we were "so close". Deal wouldn't ever be offered again. LOL. They said we need more club points to get to a higher level and when I checked, their information was all wrong and we were already at the level they were trying to sell. They kept doing the "let me go check with my manager" routine. Then when they finally accepted that we weren't buying club points, they sent another guy in who does a hard sell and tries to get you to buy a 5 night vacation back at the Sheraton if we will go to another presentation. no way.

On another note, I checked and if I convert my Westin Kierland 1 BR premium - platinum season to Club Points and then try to use those Club Points to book it back, I won't have enough club points to book my own unit. Just saying.

Lesson #1 don’t go to updates, they are sales presentations. I tell them we are happy with what we have.

Sheraton Broadway Plantation was one of the worst presentation we have done in the last few years. It wasn't so much a hard sell, but rather that we HAD to go tour a unit, even though we were staying in a unit in the same building. We HAD to go or they would get in trouble.

As for booking back into your same unit, that isn't how the system is setup and that isn't the intent. If you want to stay in your unit, you just book it in your home resort booking window or with StarOptions.

yeah, i know that isn't how it is set up, but it shows you that if you convert to Club points, you are losing value. Those Club points are worth about 20-25% less in value for an identical unit. If you were not losing anything, you could convert back and forth perfectly. you could start with star options, convert to clup points and then rent your unit back for the exact same amount of club points you just acquired.

So, in the future if you want to convert to Club Points, be aware that you are not getting your full value... at least I am not for my WKV unit.

same here. we have had one every year since we bought about 12 years ago and Sheraton Broadway Plantation was the worst one so far. We were thinking that things had changed since Marriott took over!!

That's pretty common knowledge to anyone who's been following events for the past 6-9 months. Also, unlike with SO, in Abound, the points you need to reserve a 1BR+Studio (if you are thinking of staying one week in each side of a lock off) are far greater than the points you need for a 2BR.
