Short stay exchange question

Wondering if anyone knows why inventory shows as available but then when I click on it it get the message "We're sorry, this unit is no longer available"
It is definitely there. Seems to be mostly on the Marriott's depending on how far out. Thanks!
 
I actually called about this a few days ago. It is pretty bad.

They said it is "ghost inventory" that is not there, and the problem started when they introduced ShortStays. Somehow some inventory does not clear properly, and likely related to weeks being broken up. They opened a case but said it happens more often than it should. The reps have the same issue.

If I go to a regular exchange the weeks are available....it's strange..... and annoying...LOL
 
The rep did say that not all available weeks are available to be broken up as shortstays. Especially higher demand weeks.

When I see this message while searching for regular exchanges, it usually means there is inventory available, but it is in a unit size too small to accommodate my party. If I change the number of guests to 1, the message goes away, and I'll see a studio or 1-bedroom unit.

I am getting the error when searching for 2.
