What happens to my ownership in Starwood, when the Marriott merger is complete? At my age I don't want to put any more money into timeshares. At the "owner's update" all they push is buying into Flex. I am an Elete, level three, and just wish to travel to Sheraton Resort each year. They cleverly avoided answering any of my questions. Will I lose my ability to select any week and just be obligated to the deeded weeks?

Continue to enjoy your ownership as before. If you just want to travel to Orlando every year I do not see any scenario that will affect you regardless of what the integration will be like.

Yes, sales staff are telling people that they will no longer be able to use points / choose timjng / choose resorts, as i posted a few months ago. Ignore them.

Better: just don't go to the "owners' updates" (i.e. sales meetings).

They didn’t avoid answering you, no one knows the answer yet. But if you just want to go to your home resort in Orlando you’ll be fine.

Not currently. No one knows how the future program will be structured. The sales people certainly do not know and are only saying things they believe will result in additional sales for them. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the response. I recently purchased an additional 60K Flex points which makes me 3 Star Elite in the Flex program. I already owned 81K Star Options at Sheraton Vistana. I own 1500 Marriot Vacation Club points and I am a VIP Gold owner in Wyndham which is undergoing changes. I’m having a hard time keeping up and using my ownerships effectively. I hope that TUG can help me. Is there a particular thread I should be following?

Also, sounds like you buy from the developer. Buying resale is *so* much cheaper!!!
