Hello Ya'll,

I have not seen resale units on the market for this resort?
Any idea what a 2BD would be going for from the resort Vs resale?
Why would I want to buy here Vs why not?
Thank you!
SDBOI

It's been less than 10 years since they converted hotel rooms into timeshare units, so you probably won't see many on the resale market yet.

I visited this property, and I would trade into it through Interval, but I would not buy there, or use Staroptions, because I don't think it is equivalent to the other Hawaii properties.:

• No Views: It is across the street from the ocean and behind the Sheraton Hotel.
• Small: The buildings used to be hotel rooms, and they converted it into a timeshare, but they used the existing room size, so the units are very small.
• Few Amenities: The timeshare side has it's own small, generic pool, but the other amenities are at the Sheraton Hotel.
• Poipu: I like the beach across the street and the location in Poipu.
• Fresh: I thought the renovations looked good, although small.

• Please note: most of the outdoor/restaurant/bar/gym/pool pictures on the website are actually from the hotel - the timeshare has few separate amenities. The pool on the landing page is the timeshare pool - all the other pool pictures are at the hotel.

No disagreements with Denise, but a few other thoughts. I would not even exchange into this resort unless we got a one level UG on II into a 2 bdrm. I have stayed there twice.

TS guests have access to everything at the hotel and it is a short walk across the street. The TS lobby is the main lobby and the TS property (yes no views) is lovely and quite peaceful. It has a great fitness center, business center and rocking chairs overlooking a garden view in the lobby. All of the hubub is close right across the never busy street.

Now the bad news: the hotel conversion is a mess. I posted about our 1 bdrm - I will try to find it - which was really small, no storage (we lived out of our suitcases), no table to eat at and the bathroom practically in the living room. I can only imagine that the original Sheraton hotel there had such small, poorly designed rooms that the architects had little to work with.

I stayed there solo in a rental for a week, and although fine enough for me I could not imagine how two of us could manage for a week. Really tiny cooking space and no W/D in either of those units.

Not opposed to hotel conversions and we have been very happy at Marriott KBC and MOC. This Sheraton are nothing like those although the property overall is quite great given hotel and TS and of course Poipu is lovely. I would rent there before even thinking of buying anything, and even then probably size up a unit!

One positive is the restaurant/bar is very good. Food was very good as was happy hour.

Were any deeded weeks sold or are they only in Sheraton Flex?
No deeded weeks. This property was developed/converted after the introduction of SHeraton Flex. You can buy Sheraton Flex home options for 12 month reservations to Sheraton Kauai.
