Is this a good timeshare? I was considering purchasing in Myrtle Beach and would like to get someplace nice. I know from reading that this one isn't on the beach which is a drawback, but wanted to get everyone's input on how nice this place is. Is it close to nice golf courses? Do they have a dedicated beach although they aren't on the beach? Thanks for your help!

I toured the resort a couple of years ago and it is a nice resort. There is no dedicated beach access and as any location in Myrtle Beach there area plenty of golf courses within a short distance. We ended up buying two weeks at the Marriott property. The price was just about the same as Broadway Plantation but it gave you ocean front property and more resorts internally to trade to. If you have any questions about the Marriott property let me know.

Hi Spring Training Fan,

We are actually staying at Broadway Plantation in August.

I've read some really nice things about it.

If you can wait, I'll let you know how it is when we get back.

I've never been to Myrtle Beach, so this should be an interesting trip!

Toured it a couple of years ago and found it very nice BUT they seem to sell dirt cheap on Ebay. Don't know about the MFs though. My sincere advice if you are interested is definitely DON"T buy from developer.

We stayed there a few years ago and really liked it. It's a short drive to the beach, and we went most every day. The units are very nice. We'd definitely go back because it seems to be an easy internal trade for us. If I were to go often, however, I'd probably look for something beachfront.

Ditto. Well said...

We own a EOY 2 bedroom lock-out Plat time float. The place is beautiful. MF for an ANNUAL is 754. BSP is not a mandatory resort in their system. If you buy resale here you cannot join Starwood Vacation Network. That's why they go for great prices on ebay. We're thinking of picking up an annual shoulder week for after we retire. We could do a month in a one bedroom EOY, and have a great 2 weeks of golf every year. For more basic info on Starwood, use the TUG advice section and look for the Starwood data. There are 5 resorts you can buy resale and still be in the SVN. There used to be a resort on the beach whose access we had for use. I haven't been in a while. I have sent friends who came back raving about the lazy river, activities for the kids and the place in general. We initially bought a gold 2 bedroom worth 44K in their system but upgraded (yes, thru the developer. BUT we got a good deal and around 60% of the orig purchase price was credited to the new unit price) to 81K which will get us something in every resort they currently have. As to trading internally, we had no problem getting Mission Hills for Pres week and port St Lucie. I currently have a week with SFX to see what I can pull. Other than the big 3- WStJ, Harborside and the Maui complex, it seems workable. I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have, but the Big Guns of Starwood haven't chimed in yet, so they may fill in the blanks.

We just purchased a week at Broadway. My review is listed. It is about four long blocks from the beach.

Our stay was great, and although we were going to visit the beach, we were content to stay in the Broadway pool area.

The beach sand seems to get into everything, but I guess that is personal preference.
