We might be spending part of our summer vacation next year at the Sheraton Broadway. I've read some of the previous threads but thought I would ask for specific advice on a new thread.

1. Difference between Palmetto vs Plantation phases?

2. What buildings are recommended? For being close to pool? For privacy?

3. Do any buildings have better view than the others?

4. Any other info that might be helpful - we are traveling as a family - kids will be 11 and 13 when we travel.

Thanks in advance!

I've never been to this specific resort but I do go to Myrtle almost every summer. Hope you understand this resort is about 1 or 2 miles from the beach and your only access to the beach is via public lots.

The fact that this resort is so far from the beach and I have read many more negative comments about getting to the beach and parking than I have read positive comments has kept me from exchanging into this resort. Otherwise, the resort looks very upscale and the pool looks amazing for kids. Broadway at the Beach is my favorite Myrtle Beach attaction so I think being so close, especially in the evening would be fun.

I've never had any issues getting to the beach and parking. It's a great resort.

The rooms are a little larger in Palmetto. You can compare on mystarcentral. The plantation section completed a remodel last year so the interior should be the same. You can look at the map of the buildings with check in days to see what is near which pool. If you are using staroptions I would go with the one that cost less and is available on the checkin day/date you want. Some views may be better than others but it is not something you can insure by requesting a certain section of the resort.

No dedicated beach area or parking, right? Do you find public parking? I've read multiple reports both here on TUG and tripadvisor of the public parking spaces/lots filling up before 10AM. You can't walk or bike to the beach either?

Just trying to understand how easy it is to get to the beach.

Correct. I've used both the public garage and private lots. We tend to go earlier in the morning and come back to the resort after lunch, so it might be tougher to find around lunch time. We also usually don't go on Saturday/Sunday.

there are ton of public spots for you to park for the whole day and it's not expensive at all. it's a good resort if you're within driving distance.

We have stayed at this resort before and are planning on a return trip in JUne. We never had any issues with the public lots.
