I have an ad on TUG and RW, hoping to give away Shell points. These points have always worked for me and get great inventory in locations you couldn't get anywhere other than Shell. Little Sweden in Door County is abundant for times of year you would want to be there. Now Wyndham owners can get Vino Bello and Peacock Suites and Legacy Golf, etc. People are confusing Wyndham with Shell.
I am getting inquiries from prospects with comments about the maintenance fees being high for that number of points. This is not Wyndham. 25,300 points in Shell is a lot of points. You cannot compare the two. It takes around 130,000 points to book a week in a studio at Vino Bello with Wyndham. It takes only 3,250 points during peak season with Shell. Fees are only .34 per point, making a studio $1,100 for a full week in Napa Valley. That is an incredible deal for Vino Bello. It's really nice, and no hotel is going to cost $1,100 for a full week.
Someone is interested in a small number of points, she owns Shell already, and I told her Wyndham now uses Docusign for the transfer of points, and I am happy to pay the transfer fee. She says she doesn't want Wyndham, she wants Shell. It's 2,500 points. This is not Wyndham but is managed by Wyndham. She is afraid I am giving away Wyndham. No, Wyndham doesn't even sell 2,500 points.
I wish Wyndham would take these Shell points back. I will call and ask after the holidays. Owning Shell and Wyndham is redundant.
I actually think if someone took the entire 25,300 points, Wyndham would make an offer and the new owners would be instant VIP Platinum with a small purchase, or maybe corporate does it without a purchase? Does anyone know? I know it's 40 X 25,300 points conversion rate. And if they let you PIC a couple of 3 bedrooms at Twin Rivers with MF's of $1,100 per week, you could get VIP Founder's. level. That would add 508,000 points to the total. Someone here on TUG was giving away a Twin Rivers 3 bedroom summer week.
The transfer fees for 4 contracts is $700. I paid that fee already for a deal that fell through because one person didn't sign the Docusign. Those were 4 of the bigger contracts. I have a bunch of little ones left, all adding up to 25,300 points.
Is the Shell points product going to become an antiquated product in the timeshare world?
