Is there anyone that can testify on Shadow Ridge II - The Enclaves. No reviews have been written in TUG as of yet. I've seen the pictures and went through the virtual tour on the website, but it really does not compare to someone who has stayed there.

Overall, how does it rate versus a Shadow Ridge I Villages Unit or for that matter, DSV I or II. Would you choose the Enclaves first when going to Palm Desert or is the new style quirky and unpreferred?

What percentage of the Enclaves has been sold?

Thank you.

party size/composition will matter

Stayed there...liked it...newer than Villas I. Units a little smaller. Nice property.

Haven't stayed there-from what I was told (by someone that has stayed there) that since we are a family of 5 we would be much happier in the original SR. Still has those great pools-kids love waterslides.... The new Enclaves I was told felt smaller and a bit choppy for a family, but fine for 2 couples. We also own at the Westin Mission Hills-the guy I talked to said it was kind of like that, but smaller, not done quite as nice. This comment made me happy, as the WMH mfs are quite a bit higher:eek: I'm guessing Enclaves are great for couples that like to travel with another couple and each wants some space to chill. For families-I think any of the other Marriotts would be better in terms of configuration.

I drove by at the end of August/early September and looked at both the older Villages section and the new Enclaves section. The new section seemed a lot less crowded, smaller, and the villas had a different architecture feel - more modern-cut, a little less cozy feel. The older section pool was extremely crowded by comparison (this is Labor Day weekend we drove by).

We recently stayed at the Enclaves in Sept 2010. We also own at the Villages and DSV II. We were traveling as 2 couples on this particular trip. I enjoyed the Enclaves as it felt more like a luxury resort with our unit that overlooked the beautiful pool area. However, the unit (bldg. 4400) while newer and more contemporary is considerably smaller and choppier as mentioned in the other posts.

If I were traveling with a young family I would want to be in the Villages. You would have access to some lawn areas and more space. These units are the more typical Marriott timeshare units as we know them situated on a beautiful golf course. The pool area at the Villages also would be more condusive to younger children.

Either choice offers a great setting at a beautiful resort in an area that offers much to do and see.

gw,

Do you know what % of the Enclaves are built? I've heard varying numbers on their build out plans. Just curious how much of Phase II is completed and if they are planning to finish them out soon.

Great information. Thank you.

There are only 3 buildings built and no ongoing construction at the time. The map of the complex/resort that was given to us upon arrival as well as the signage for the building numbers depicts a total of 9 buildings for the area. In addition there is still considerable room to built and there are structures depicted on the site map but I'm not sure what they will be used for. The entire complex/resort with the golf course is 312 acres.

Of the 3 buildings at present 2 (bldgs 4300 &4400) overlook the pool. The other (bldg 4500) has some units at one end that have balconies overlooking the pool but most of this unit backs up to the golf course. We were in building 4400 (unit 4429), dead center in the building, second floor and had a wonderful overview of the pool area. The balcony faced to the east which was nice for the late afternoon evening time to enjoy the balcony. Mountain views in the distance to the right (south). I don't think I would like building 4300 as most of the balconies in this building faced either south or west and had full exposure to the hot sun. We were there the last week of Sept and it was 100 degrees every day.

There was another fitness building for these units, but the Marketplace & restaurant are shared facilities within or near the main lobby building. You drive through the Villages units in order to reach the Enclaves facilities.

i will be heading over there shortly to have a look, will try to take a few photos if possible...

We stayed there last Dec. in a two bedroom unit and didn't like that the master bedroom was right off the Living room-kitchen area.
