Sending info to Marriott ROFR

Just curious, has anyone sent information directly to Marriott ROFR? The Closing Agent we are using is on vacation and pretty backed up, and we are anxious to get the ball rolling. If we could do that part ourselves we thought it might speed up the process, but I have no idea how to reach them, or if that is even an option.

Any thoughts?

Most (but not all) ROFR's are submitted to Marriott electronically. Although they have 30 days to act they generally act within just a few days.

As part of the closing process the closing agent (or someone in his/her office) should be able to submit that for you. I would advise you go that route (rather than doing it yourself) so as not to gum up the transaction.

Yes, you can submit the agreement to ROFR yourself. I usually do it right after signing the agreement, even before contacting the closing company. Email to ROFR.Requests@mvwc.com to request the form.

So do I just email the agreement we have and say that I'm submitting for ROFR? What about the Estoppel? Should we ask for that before or after submitting to ROFR?

Don't send the agreement, first just email and ask for the ROFR form. They will email you the form and instructions.

Thanks you so much for sharing. Especially, I just contact LT Transfer, and they require $195 deposit up front, but if it fail ROFR, they only refund $95, costing you $100 with nothing to show for it.

LT Transfer said we can submit ROFR ourselves, to contact Marriott for instructions on how to do so. But TUggers have much better information than just contacting the general Marriott Customer Service line.

It’s really easy to do and if submitted by 4pm on Mondays they notify you by end of business on Tuesdays. I have never waited 30 days.

Generally there is no 30 day wait if the paperwork is all done electronically. It can be handled very quickly!

The $95 fee to Marriott is their ROFR Waiver Fee. That is only paid if they waive. I think the OP was referring to a $95 fee that LT Transfers retains to cover their work and effort put into the transaction that won't end up closing through them. This is why buyers really should ask the seller to pay that fee to LT if ROFR is exercised. The seller is the one that is still getting paid from Marriott.

Very interesting. Just so I understand correctly, if you then subsequently have someone like LT Transfers actually prepare the deed and do the closing, there is still no $95 fee to Marriott for ROFR waiver?
 
Yes. In my two transactions that Marriott waived ROFR that was the case.

Thanks. That is a good tip. So it seems that as long as the seller or buyer is submitting ROFR, then they don't charge the fee.
 
Hello - We are in the process of selling (giving back) back our deeded Marriott Timeshare to Marriott. I went through their process of using the Marriott website to exit the timeshare. We are at the point of transferring the documents via Docusign and waiting for the "link" to make the $400 non-refundable payment for the transaction. The email will be coming from Cybersource. Is Cybersource legit? I would appreciate any insight anyone may have. Thank you.
