I have about 100,000 WorldMark points and due to health changes want to downsize my collection. Is it possible to sell portions of my points? Like in lots of 10 or 20 thousand or is it an all or nothing situation? TIA

Sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope all is well.

To my knowledge, there is no way to sell a portion of your contract. Your membership in WorldMark is tied to the size of the contract. If you sold some of it, a new membership contract number would have to be created for that person, unless they already had a membership that the credits could be merged into. But even then, I think the combination needs to have contract numbers so they can account for where the credits originated.

You should check with WM directly to confirm.

I believe you can sell a portion of your contract. You should go over to wmowners.com and ask your questions. There is a list of trusted brokers who can help you with it. From a buyer aspect, I highly recommend Mike Dosh from besttimeshare.net. I also like redseason.com and wmcredits.net.

Thanks for the info. I didn't think it was possible to sell a portion of a contract like that.

I bought my WorldMark on eBay for very low money, with the seller paying all fees. It was a great deal. For the kind of money OP is referencing to buy into Marriott, he could pay an awful lot of maintenance fees to WM, with a likely better return on booking opportunities. Once you're in a vacation location and away from the resort, where you're staying makes little difference.

I think I found out about this from wmowners. They used to have contract number = customer number, when I owned in 2013 to 2016. With my newly bought resale contract, they issued a customer number to me, which is different from the contract number.

My account has a Membership number, and a Contract number. They are different. I always thought it was because I bought resale, and the contract had been paid off. The Membership number remained in effect, but was tied to the Contract number.

Customer number is new to me. In the old system, my sign-in id was the contract number. I think there are a few owners who have posted in wmowners that they are wanting to sell off part of their contract. For me, I would use a broker to help me with the process. I am sure it can be done on your own with guidance from Worldmark directly.

I think you can add and deduct credit amounts on WM memberships. I recently added credits to one of my accounts. If a person with an account wanted some more credits they are allowed to add credits to the account once a year. The accounts have to be the same type to combine like USA account to USA account , Canadian Trust to Canadian Trust, South Pacific to South Pacific. There was a form on the old website.

Welcome to TUG. I'm delighted you found us.

As long as the account has no loan, any increments of 1,000 credits may be sold, so long as the remaining account is at least 5,000 credits.
Contact several resale brokers. They can give you an estimate of what the account will sell for.

I have bought from Bill Stephan.

Is 100,000 the total number of credits in the account, (e.g. 50,000 from last year plus 50,000 from this year), or is 100,000 the amount that you receive annually?

Perhaps germane: I'm looking to reduce my Club Wyndham (not Worldmark) holdings by selling off the points in three contracts. I was just yesterday on the phone with a Club Wyndham "Certified Exit" specialist, and agents from the two Wyndham-recommended resale brokers. While I did not ask your particular question, all three spoke only in terms of contracts. Additionally, when I initially spoke in terms of total points I wanted to unload, both of the agents said they list and sell only by contract. It would not surprise me if Worldmark were no different.

Good luck!

People sell parts of their WM Accounts all the time. Contract numbers are pretty meanless.

Count yourself surprised. Worldmark is completely different than Wyndham so trying to advise somebody on their Worldmark issues based on how Wyndham works is not helpful.

I do now count myself surprised.

I thought I had included sufficient disclaimers - that the experience I was sharing was only "perhaps germane", that it was associated with Club Wyndham and not Wyndham Worldmark, and that it was not in direct response to @Hmccarley 's question. I regret only that I did not include enough disclaimers for your satisfaction.

Maybe try sharing next Hilton and Hyatt examples with more disclaimers.
