Agree with everyone, it must be a scam.
But it was well done, I'm giving them good grades for completeness. Agency representing the buyer is All Star Travel Vacations Group, LLC. There is a very similar company on the internet with the same logo and address. There's a title company, Garland Title and Escrow, LLC with an address in Bloomington MN. They have an internet site but guessing they're completely false. Best deception was when VIDA contacted me saying they had received and inquiry and needed a release form to talk with All Star. I think that's where they were looking to get my money. Guessing they were going to ask for maintenance fees for the extra weeks. That would be safe if indeed I was dealing with VIDA. As I did my due diligence. this person did not have a valid VIDA domain. Looked good but wasn't. Finally I used google maps to look up the title company's address and called the building manager. Of course they said there wasn't any company in the building by that name.
So I contacted them and said they were a scam and they did not back down. They had good explanations for everything, well almost.
BTW - rental rate was correct, ~3,500 for a two bedroom Vidanta unit is the going rate.
ONE last item - does anyone know how to report these people so internet searches send up red flags?
Thanks to everyone for helping....
