I'm thinking about selling som MVC points that I purchased in order to enroll weeks. Over the years I've purchase a couple of sets of points. I just have a few questions if anyone knows...

1. Does LT Transfers do this? I called and talked to a lady there who really didn't seem to know. She might be new...She did think each group of points might have to go through their own ROFR
2. Can I lump all of them together and sell them in one group or would it be better to sell them in the smaller amounts based on how they were purchased? Do smaller amounts get past ROFR easier than larger amounts? All the points I have start Jan of each year so they are the same that way...

Thanks

Your best bet may be to send an email directly to LT Transfers and get a written response for your first question. Use the website below for their email address:

Regarding your second question; I believe points have to be transferred in increments of 250 (i.e. a beneficial interest). I don't believe any of them will currently pass ROFR for anything less than $3 per point (but I could be wrong). If you're looking for a quick bargain sale (to generate quick cash) then have someone you know offer you $2.99 per point and it is highly likely Marriott will buy them and take them off your hands quickly. I only say this as there are TONS of resale points available and it is highly likely you will have to wait a long, long time to find a buyer.

Rather than absorbing a loss (at time of sale), you may instead want to consider renting your points. You currently should be able to fetch about 70 cents per point. And you may want to rent your points until you can find the correct buyer.

Do all your points have the same expiration date? There are a lot of points out there that expire during every month of the year so combining may not be possible at all unless they all expire in the same month.

I'm sure others may add their thoughts.
