Sedona in December?

We have an opportunity to go to Sedona the first week in December. When I look at weather.com, the average temperature is 57 degrees for December. For some reason I thought Sedona was hot all year round (my mistake).

Anyway, with this kind of weather, what kind of activities are possible during this time of the year? Is there golfing in December? Are there tours to the Grand Canyon? Can I expect rainfall? What can you tell me about Sedona in December?

Thanks!!

Because Sedona is at a higher elevation than say, Phoenix, it is colder in the winter than you might expect. We have gone in March and May - March was a little chilly - light jacket weather and there was still snow on the ground at the Grand Canyon.

I've been to Sedona in January and it was around 60 degrees and sunny, but the last day we were there was freezing because a storm was coming in. A friend went last December after Christmas and said they were able to hike and play golf and the weather was cold in the morning and evenings, but comfortable during the day.

Its a iffy time of the year to visit sedona so be prepared. It could be moderate or It could rain and snow that time of year depending on the Weather front moving thru the area.

 Too cold! We went in November and it felt cold...sun was out, but you needed to wear a sweater and jacket and the nites were worse...
but then we like the warmer weather....
