Anybody have any hints, don't misses etc. for SeaWorld. We have passes and will be going more than once next week.

Thanks in advance
Nancy

Here are some things I'd consider:

1) Sea World only has three real rides. Two of them Kraken and Escape from Atlantis are right next to each other and don't get crowded the first hour or so. I'd go there first. The other one is Wild Arctic which is sort of like Soaring at Disney. It isn't far from them either and could be done early.

2) All of the shows are really great except for the Sesame Street one (only go if you have little kids). You'll need to coordinate where you are in the park based on the live shows. Also, you can't see all the shows unless you stay most of the day just due to the logistics. Don't miss the Dolphin and Whale show. The Sea Lion and Pet shows are also worth seeing, but are more silly and less spectacular.

3) The rest of the animal exhibits (seal, stingray, penguin, shark, etc.) never get crowded. Do these when you have time in between shows.

4) The food is pretty good at Seaworld. Eat lunch before noon or from 2-4 to avoid waits

5) Don't pay for the preferred parking. It isn't much closer. None of the parking is shaded.

The underwater viewing area for the whales, next to shamu stadium. Easy to miss but well worth it, very clear view and excellent photo ops.

Free beer in the hospitality house, 2 per adult.

If you're not traveling with little ones I would suggest the brewmasters beer making course, interesting for adults and free I believe.

The indoor show, don't remember the name of it, located in the back between the sharks and the horses. Good show, similar to Cirque du soleil but shorter and free.

Be sure to do Wild Arctic, its a simulator ride or a walk through, but it's the only way to get to the "Arctic" in which you can see the polar bears and other whales.

If you do have children the Animal Actors show is fun

And the dolphin show is all around great, much more than dolphins but I won't ruin it

My entire family LOVED the seal and sealion show! I would definitely to to that. It is very cute. Also, if you are animal lovers or have little kids with you, there is another animal show which is dogs and cats. They are all rescued animals and it is entertaining.

Seaworld has a different vibe than some of the other attractions in Orlando. It is less bells and whistles, but still a great day. It has a more zoo like feel and is very focused on animal welfare. Have Fun!

Once you get there, check out the show schedule. Try to schedule the shows you want to see, and consider the amount of walking you need to do to get from one show to the next. Also consider you need to be at these arenas EARLY. Do the best you can to see the shows you want, but my opiniion is they have figured out how to create a show schedule that requires you to be there for a second day to see everything. There's no way you can see every show in one day.

Several years ago they would give you a schedule, based on the time of day you arrived, to see the most shows in the time you had. Now, it is my opinion, that they try to schedule the shows so that you have to come back multiple days to see everything.

Thanks

Thanks for the hints so far. Should have mentioned we are 3 generations. Grandparents, parents and kids 11, 9, 3 and 2.

One of our favorites for all ages was the Makahiki Luau, SeaWorld's Polynesian Feast and Celebration..need to reserve in advance...and the food was good, family style, if you don't fill the table its shared with other guests..we had a young honeymoon couple at our table of 4 kids, a grandparent and us, the parents..we all had a wonderful time..still talk about it too.

I would have the grandparent rent a motorized wheelchair. There is a lot of walking int he hot sun. Even if you rent one and have them switch off it will be half the walking that everyone else is doing. I wouldn't go to Seaworld (or Epcot!) without my mother getting a wheelchair.

It would also be a place where the 2 and 3 year olds can sit on someone's lap for a rest (you aren't supposed to drive with them on your lap though).

There are usually places for wheelchairs in the front row or they can park it outside and walk in with the rest of you.

Do they still have that huge netted play area for kids? If so, the 9 and 11 year olds will love it.

Grandparent

I'm the grandparent (at least one of them)! Not quite ready for wheelchair yet, but thanks for the hint. We have a stroller and the youngest maybe staying a lot of time back at OLCC with grandfather who isn't too park crazy.

Thanks for the hints. Leaving today.

We just returned from FL and visited SeaWorld for a day. Arrived to the park around 3pm and stayed till closing, worked out great for us. Saw everything we wanted to see and missed the mid afternoon temps which was in the high 90's that day. Plus the early morning crowds start leaving around 3-4pm which made it nice as well. Less crowds means less wait time for attractions. We had a very nice evening.

Personally, I love petting the dolphins and I didn't see anyone mention feeding times. Find out when the feeding times are in the morning and then work that into your schedule. Unless you are a dolphin zen-master, if you want to pet the dolphins you have to have fish to feed them. They also limit the number of fish they sell, so get there a few minutes early.

Good call on the dolphins! I also like feeding the sting rays, and the penguin encounter. That penguin building is one of the few indoor air-conditioned things to do there, besides drinking Budweiser beer (which is a must do too!)

Seaworld "Fastpass"

Does Seaworld offer any type of priority (rides, shows, meals) for any guests staying at resorts (HGVC at Seaworld or elsewhere)?

Animal Performers Galore.

Anybody have any hints, don't misses etc. for SeaWorld.
We specially enjoy the Pets Ahoy show, the dolphin show, the false killer whale show, & the orca show.

By us, the sea lion show is somewhere between OK & so-so -- but we might view it with a fresh perspective if our grandson is with us next time we go. What's eyeball-rolling to the old folks might be the funniest thing since knock-knock jokes to the preschool set.
