How do you read the seasons at Marriott Cypress Harbour. The Winter is called Special. The Summer is called Summer and the middle is called Sport.

At other Orlando Marriott resorts, the Winter and the Summer are Platinum, the Fall is Gold. So, for Cypress Harbour, what is the highest level? The summer or Special? I assume that the Sport is the lowest of the 3.

Also, does anyone know if they are Lockoffs? I look at the Floor Plan and it looks like the Studio could be locked off, but I am not sure.

The floating seasons only matter because they determine when owners can use their weeks. Is winter or summer more valuable to you?

Interval International (II) doesn't care how Marriott classifies a week. When it comes to relative trading strengths of different weeks at the same resort, II cares about the demand for the specific week. For example, at Newport Coast Villas (NCV), there are some Gold weeks that are higher on the demand index than some Platinum weeks.

There are no lock-offs at Cypress Harbour. Every villa is a 2BR/2BA. The master bedroom and bathroom are very large. The second bedroom and bathroom are quite small; when the pullout sofa is opened in the second bedroom, it's really tight in there.

Thanks Werner,

I also ask because IF (I am not debating with anyone, but we all keep hearing about it) the Marriott switches to a Points program, I am sure that the amount of points you get is relative to the Season. So, my question is: When you buy from Marriott retail, which do they charge more for; summer, or special?

I think for the most part that there are more higher trading weeks in Special than in Summer. Special has weeks 51 and 52 along with spring break which usually have more demand than summer weeks.

If you compare Cypress Harbour seasons with its fellow resorts Harbour Lake and Grande Vista, you will see that Special and Summer are considered Platinum Season, and Sport is considered Gold. If you compare with Lakeshore, part of the Special Season is considered Premier Platinum. Maybe Special is a little bit more valuable than Summer.
