Seaplanes of Key West

Don't plan on it...

This was posted on another forum. Anyone here know anything about it?
We will be traveling the 1st of May and this was something we most definately wanted to do.

Having just returned from a week in Key West, I can tell you with some certainty that there is no longer any seaplane service out to Dry Tortugas / Fort Jefferson (as seen in the photo of the site whose URL you posted).
That particular seaplane operation closed down and the prospects of its resurrection are uncertain --- at best.

Whether the "coming soon" seaplane service described in the URL cited in your post is the same entity and /or ever comes to be an operational reality remains to be seen. As of today, it does not actually exist at all.

To each his / her own, of course, but the "sights and scenes" of Key West are, in my opinion, best observed on terra firma at eye level anyhow. :D

P.S. If a visit to Fort Jefferson / Dry Tortugas is your objective, there is still ferry service out there from Key West. On the other hand, if the seaplane experience was the primary objective, you may well be "SOL"...

Oh I was well aware there were no seaplanes flying to Fort Jefferson. What caught my eye was the statement "National Park Airways Inc is seeking the necessary permits to provide safe and reliable tours to KW visitors".

We'll see........
