Has anyone stayed here? If so what did you think? It has been a few years since I have been to Englewood and am going to Sea Oats this fall. I know it's not fancy. Thanks!!

We own there, but since we live only 20 min. away we rent our week out. As you say, it is not fancy, but it is comfortable. Try to stay out of the 1/204 - 1/205 units as they have no lanais. The units across the front look out over the common area to the gulf. The 06 - 13 units look out on the common area with the gulf to the right. The 13 units, especially 213 also have a beach/gulf view through the side windows, but 113 is partially obstructed by a retaining wall. The second bedroom in the two bedroom units have a queen (?) sized pull out couch. The lanais on the ground floor have screen doors that open out onto the common area.
The common area includes the pool, tables and chairs/lounges, a hot tub, chickee hut w/tables and gas grills. Up three steps, across the chickee hut entrance and back down some steps and you are on the beach.
As you walk along the beach, look for shark teeth. They are generally small (nickel/dime and smaller sized) but plentiful. When I do go, If I walk for an hour and don't have at least 30 I consider it a bad day.

Thank you Don. Our RCI res. says unit #207. The same management Co. that takes care of Little Gull Cottages also takes care of Sea Oats. I've been wanting to head down there for awhile now.

We stayed there about 2 years and loved it. We are retiring in Englewood in about 10 years. Sea Oats is very quiet, right on the beach and lovely.

I would go back anytime.

You'll be overlooking the pool. Our unit is 209, week 26. We bought it because we wanted something in FL that was a definite place to stay and exchanging was too iffy. We were going to use it as a base of operations in our search for an area to retire to. We liked the area so much we didn't have to look very far.

Thanks again Don. I will be going down before my LongBoat Key week. Am looking forward to seeing that area again.
