SDO Gold Prime Weeks

How difficult is it to reserve a prime week if you own floating weeks 1-52? I'm not familiar with how II trades, can you trade a 1 bedroom for a 2 bedroom if you deposit a prime week? Will II give you a bonus week?

I don't believe anyone has reported difficulty reserving an SDO at 12 mos. out. I have never had a problem reserving March weeks myself (again calling at 12 mos. out).

I'm not familiar with how II trades, can you trade a 1 bedroom for a 2 bedroom if you deposit a prime week?

With Starwood you don't get to pick the week you deposit. Having said that, I think you might be able trade up to a 2 bedroom unit outside of prime season (which I would think would be Feb. to Apr.).

Will II give you a bonus week?

I don't believe any Starwood weeks are eligible for accommodation certificates; however, many have gotten two-for-one x-y-z exchanges.

hi, i own a 1 bdrm at SDO (Gold plus/Red - as classified on II). I was able to get a 2 bdrm at the Westin Lagunamar last November. This was through an instant exchange perusing available inventory - not through a request.
I have another 2 bdroom exchanged for use at the Westin Lagunamar for November 2012 as well - instant exchange.
I have not tried to get any bonus week as of yet.

I did the same B-side SDO (smaller side) for a 2BR Westin Lagunamar in December. I booked that three months ago and I am still very excited
The A side was also an instant exchange for a 3BR Marriott Grande Vista in May.

If you check the sightings board and II often, instant exchanges can go along way when trading up to a larger unit, especially in shoulder seasons and in overbuilt areas.

As others have said, you don't get to choose the week you deposit with Starwood. Please see the II FAQ at the top of the forum for all the details.

Starwood timeshares do no get bonus weeks.
