Scam?

I sent an inquiry via VRBO regarding payment options for an Irish townhouse. In response I received 4 replies-
#1: Text me; #2 Three digits (087); #3 Three digits; #4 Four digits.
Once before, unknown to me at the time a 3rd party intercepted a request via VRBO, but once that party required payment for the property by bank transfer, I knew it was a scam!
Should I text "Fergus"?

Ok- I learned that the 087 country code is South Africa. Most definitely illegitimate. I have contacted VRBO via their 'owner' link but IDK if that will have any effect. Frustratingly difficult to try to report this suspicious response I got to my inquiry sent via the VRBO listing link to "contact the owner"!
