I hope they keep the operations separate as the article indicates. We know what Darden did to Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. We used to love Cheddar's. Now, not so much. I hope Denny's doesn't take Keke's down the same path. We have only eaten at Keke's once, but it was pretty good and seemed very popular.

ORLANDO, Fla. - Keke's Breakfast Cafe, a Florida-based breakfast restaurant chain, has been sold to the Denny's Corporation.

Denny's announced Tuesday that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire Keke's Breakfast Cafe for $82.5 million. The deal includes 52 Keke's restaurants – eight company-owned restaurants and 44 franchise restaurants, according to an online news release.

I am never allowed to go to breakfast because Rick used to manage the kitchen at a Village Inn Pancake House before he became a Denver firefighter in 1975. He can make crepes, pancakes, every kind of egg dish, and he is good at it and thinks breakfast is too cheap and easy to make himself. I agree. He makes me a protein pancake every morning (I cannot eat his fluffy buttermilk ones on my program), and he has bacon and eggs. Neither one of us gets tired of our breakfast foods.

Yes, it is a small chain of about 50 locations in Florida. Seems like Denny's is planning to take them to more locations across the country through their franchising model.

I was in Asheville last week (contracting COVID, among other activities).

I had the great pleasure of visiting Waffle House twice, Neither store had anything to do with me contracting COVID. I was so enjoyable I made some Waffle House hash browns (scattered and smothered, didn't have the fixings for chunked) at home last week while I was battling COVID.

Lol! Way back in early 90’s when I was a college program intern at Disney-we used to walk to Waffle House in early am hours-or hit up one after Pleasure island closed. Hash browns smothered, covered, chunked all the time!

Do you think some Denny’s will become KeKe? I like some Denny’s but others are terrible.
We go to IHOP or Perkins more often. Never been to Keke.
