Where is best place to purchase discount tickets for the zoo? Are there any package deals including zoo and other tours? First visit and everything right now looks very confusing. Any help would be most appreciated.

The San Diego Go Card is a good package deal if you want to do a lot of other San Diego sightseeing. There are a lot of options with this package.

Costco has a 4 day pass for $190 but if you go directly to their website, you can buy other length of visit options.

These can be an excellent value if you want to lots of other sightseeing. For it to be a really good deal, make sure you choose activities that have higher admission costs. Choose Sea World as one of your admission days ($79) and then pay out of pocket another day when you visit the USS Midway ($20).

The other big one is Southern California City Pass. http://www.citypass.com/southern-california

Groupon can also be a good place to find other activity deals. Right now they have a deal that for the normal one day rate of $79, you get a whole season pass to Sea World.

If you are an RCI member you may have a discount available for the Go Card - there was a coupon code in Fall 2015. Not sure if it's a better price than Costco offers or not.

Our family used the 4/5 day GoCard as much as we could in four days. The Zoo and the Zoo Safari Park (out toward LegoLand) were fantastic. We visited SeaWorld, museums at Balboa Park, the amusement park at the beach, LegoLand, the Midway and a couple of other things. We were pleasantly exhausted. Well worth it.

Of all of those, the beach-side amusement park and the Safari Park were my kids' favorites. You can go to the amusement park EVERY DAY and you get an unlimited ride band, a zipline and mini golf pass, and that thing where you climb on ropes and wear a harness. Balboa Park museums were popular, too.
