So instead of getting my Miami Beach TS review out today, I got in my DJI Osmo Pro 5 and got to futz for a couple hours getting it registered and firmware updated. I'm excited as it's going to be a lot better than my cellphone for making sure the video is orientated landscape, and is "waterproof" so can go to the pool if I ever play water volley ball again or something. I think it might be better video bitrate / low light but IDK for sure. Should make general vlogging less difficult than with a full frame camera lol.

This probably means my full frame will probably mostly go back to pictures (as trying to get it out on entry to a timeshare for the first time is a real bear) and I'm hoping better stabilization from the DJI for my videos. I'll have to see how the built in mic is, but I expect as good as my cellphone.

I did first try a Gimbal for my FF camera, but that both didn't fit it even though the vendor claimed it would in the docs, it also was not easy to hold up with ~2KG on the end of the stick with one hand. I think I'd need a way more expensive rig that I wore kind of like a backpack, and that's just not practical for me.

Anyway, IDK if anyone watching on youtube could even tell most of the time if current videos were from a high end camera or my cellphone given I'm not doing RAW/LOG graded video in either case. Pictures if I intersperse any will still be from my main camera the vast majority of the time.

Hopefully I can get out Miami Beach this week but I have to work again - holiday break is finally over :(.

I watched your Sheraton Vistana Villages video and thought much of it was filmed with a cell phone? At least I thought it looked like a cell phone in some of the reflections and given that it wasn't smooth like a I would expect from a gimbal based camera/setup.

Is the camera you bought the Osmo Action 5 Pro? I don't have a lot of experience with the DJI Action line but used GoPro over several of their versions. These cameras are great when you need waterproof or for otherwise action type situations. Like mountain biking, on the side of a motorcycle. They hold up well and can take a hit. If you plan on talking while using the camera, you may want to get a DJI Mic Mini transmitter ($59) to bring the microphone closer to you and the audio will also sound much better than what the camera can record natively.

I personally use the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I've used all three versions of this camera (Pocket 1 & Pocket 2 before) and they were all great. The Pocket 3 is much better in low light than either of the prior two versions and has a much larger screen. The gimbal makes for much smoother video than I can get with any other camera. Though the iPhone 14 we have seems to remove shake pretty well. I've found the Pocket 3 works best for my resort and room tours and I even now use it when recording in my studio for "talking head" videos. The camera has allowed me to only need one camera for my channel. I used to use a Canon M50 mirrorless camera for the videos i would record in my studio, but it lacks usable 4K.
