In accordance with the rules I will not be posting pertinent information about the unit. We received a Royal resort in Cancun through donation and I am wondering what the rental market is like. Have any tug members been able to rent their unit out for above the mf. I know they sell for okish prices comparatively, but if we can rent it out year after year until prices increase it would be better for the charity.

So, has anyone had luck renting them out? Here on tug? Craigslist? Where?

Hi John

The Royals used to rent for twice annual fee until the media frenzy about the Swine Flu. Narco wars, and the the world meltdown.
Most of the folks that still rent are breaking even or if they own a prime week/unit making a little.
We have looked at adding these as rentals, but at $934 per year in fees, we would need a really great unit/week.

fwiw,

Greg

I'll say $1,400-$2,100/wk winter week, depending on unit at the Sands or Haciendas. Tris appear (no experience) to go for less.

Suggest Redweek. Yes I rented out 7 weeks this Jan/Feb.

My brother just rented a BF at the Sands, NYE check in for $2,000.

All the Royals are fixed week/fixed unit, so it really depends on the week you got.
If it's one of the event weeks - spring break, x-mas or NYE week, you will make profit than MF.
If it is summer or other seasons, you can rent to cover the MF or less than MF.
Like another tugger mentioned above, Sands and Haciendas get more money at rental. The other three resorts will cover MF if you are lucky.
