The website shows 1BR Deluxe units ranging from 753 - 1,482 sq ft and 2BR Deluxe units ranging from 760 - 1,547 sq ft. Handicap-accessible rooms show the same size ranges. Where are the larger units located? Are they end units at the far ends of the long hallways or are they in certain buildings?

We'll be traveling with 4 small families over a holiday period when 3BR and 4BR units will not be available without ARP. So we'll appreciate having at least one large 1BR or 2BR among us, where we can gather more comfortably sometimes. Any suggestions for room requests? Please PM or email me if you don't wish to post a response. Thanks.

Just call the resort and ask. That's what I do. If you get someone that doesn't know what they're talking about, call again later.

I've also noticed that, at least in Tower 5, the 3 bedroom units have more square footage because the are located where the "bend" of the building is, providing more room in the living space than the room that are just built in "rectangular" fashion.

Just call the resort and ask.
Have tried. Multiple people have given the same answer... the larger Deluxe rooms are in all the buildings. No specifics shared. Seemed more like they didn't actually know. The size ranges are huge with some rooms nearly double the size of others.

Are there room layout maps of the various buildings available anywhere?

Has anyone stayed in a 1BR Deluxe or 2BR Deluxe that seemed noticeably larger than on other visits? Where?

My guess would be the larger units might be in the newer buildings.

If anyone has been a Wyndham owner since Bonnet Creek's first building entered the system and has saved all their directories they might be able to come up with the answer. In the 20xx-20xx directory the following building or buildings were added and the unit size range went from xxx square feet to xxx. And in the next directory building or buildings were added until the square feet increased to xxx or xxxx. From that we could figure out how much the unit square feet went up when each new building was added until they reach the highest number of square feet. I know there are some people that hang on to their old directories and have had occasion to wish I had too.

That has to be an error. There is no way there is a 1400 sq. ft. 1BR. There are two different 2BR layouts, but they are not that different from one another, and they are both larger than 760.

(I've been in 2BRs in both Building 2 and Building 5.)

Edited to add: I'm going to guess it is supposed to be 1BRs are 756-760 and 2BRs are 1482-1547. That would make a lot more sense (and would be vaguely consistent with my 2BR experience.)

Edited to add x2: Again if memory serves, the big difference between the two 2BRs was that one had direct access between both LR and 2nd BR to the 2nd bath, but the other only had direct access from the LR (So, an 8/6 vs. 8/4). I can't tell you which is which though.

I didn't pick up on that but you are right.

Is the kitchen, dining and living room area significantly bigger in the two bedroom deluxe units compared to the 1 bedroom deluxe units or only marginally bigger if it is bigger at all? Is the increased square footage due to the second bedroom and bathroom?

I have no idea what are the right numbers but agree the numbers in the directory make no sense.

When I list on sites that ask for a square footage, I enter 750 for 1BR units and 1,500 for 2BR units.

I have NEVER had a renter complain about unit size (square footage). Even in New Orleans where 1BR units might be 350 sq. ft.

Before the new website it used to show for the one bedroom deluxe units 812-902 square feet and for the two bedroom deluxe units 1,180-1,257 square feet.

I would have thought so as well... except for these other listed room sizes...

1 BR Presidential and 1 BR Presidential Accessible at Bonnet Creek both say: 1,091 - 1,246 sq ft
1 BR Presidential and 1 BR Presidential Accessible at Bonnet Creek Presidential Reserve both say: 1,246 sq ft

So it looks like all the 1BR Presidential units on the upper floors of building 6 (Reserve) are all the larger size but those on the lower floors may either be the same large size or ~155 sq ft smaller. Not much difference there but enough to warrant a range in the listing. This leads toward your comment about

But the 1BR Deluxe, 2BR Deluxe, and 3BR Deluxe unit types all show a very wide range of sizes, with more than 700 sq ft difference between the smallest and largest rooms in a category.

It may be an error on the website. Wouldn't be the first time.

That's interesting, thank you. Different buildings have a different footprint, at either a flattened angle or closer to a 90-degree angle L-shaped footprint.

Was the extra space in the LR or in a BR?

Now... to figure out what room numbers and unit sizes are located in each building "at the bend". :)

Another peculiarity of the website info:
All of the 3BR Deluxe rooms and all sizes of the Presidential units clearly state a specific number of baths per unit... BUT the various 1BR Deluxe and 2BR Deluxe categories all say the number of Baths "Varies". I'm not aware of exceptions to the 1BR/1Bath, 2BR/2Bath, or 3BR/2Bath Deluxe unit configurations. How odd.

Are there exceptions, where some rooms have an extra bathroom?

Ah, good info, Jan, thanks! Would you happen to know when (what year) that was and which buildings were open at the time?

Each of the buildings are different, you would almost need a map PER BUILDING to make any sense of it.

If BC still accepting room requests?? Are they honoring VIP Room Requests? I didn't think either were happening.

The new website came online in May 2017 and the last new building at Bonnet Creek added was in 2010. This is from the 2013-2014 directory. Sorry about the poor picture.

Nice, Jan, thanks - very helpful!!!

This may be more readable....

Just spoke with another person at the resort desk and apparently, buildings 1 & 2 have "slightly" smaller square footage than the rest. Jan, your guess was on the mark. She did say that all rooms within a category have the same features and amenities, including the number of Bathrooms. And there is no substantial difference in room size either. So Brian, the website listing is definitely in error!

Sandy, they may not regularly honor requests but I've had pretty good luck at times, even if it was just at the check-in desk. I do like to know what to ask about, even if it's a longshot. I always politely accept whatever their response.

Thanks to all for your quick responses.

My pleasure.

The extra space was in the living area. It made for a lot of comfy space for the family to stretch out in and move around in. We definitely do not feel like we're on top of each other in one of those units.

I wish they revised the point chart to include views and floor level. I'd love to take the lower level rooms facing the parking garage if it meant saving on points!

I've stayed there more than 20 times over the years and the room sizes are negligible, although I have only stayed in 2BR and 3BR units. The Presidentials did feel a bit larger and it was nice to have a full-size washer and dryer instead of a stacked unit.

As to what room you get, the only thing you can guarantee is getting Tower 6 if you are in a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom presidential.

People who visit Disney love making requests and the resort has dealt with the "call ahead game" of guests requesting "fireworks views" for years. I know they have tried to cut that off in the past, but I know some people think they can request a specific room. Do they actually get it? I would expect nothing.

If I was looking to rent a WBC stay, and the renter claimed they could guarantee me a certain view, I would be very suspicious and would likely look elsewhere for a reservation.

No doubt they wish they had created lots of view categories when they designed the resort, but they didn't, so I think what room you get is luck of the draw.

With as many stays as I have had, I can say many of the views are great. Our last stay, through a last-second RCI exchange, we were at the top of Tower 5 and could see the Epcot, MK, SeaWorld and (I think it was Marriot) fireworks going off. No request was made, we just got the room by luck.

I also recall a view where we had a view of the garbage trucks picking up from the trash chute. My son, who loved garbage trucks, thought it was awesome!

Wyndham VIP owners (at some level and above, I forget which) are entitled to book specific rooms in advance. I am not such a person, so I've never tried it, and folks have reported that Bonnet Creek is not particularly good at honoring this, so caveat rentor.

Beauty really IS in the eye of the beholder! Let's hope he holds on to that positive outlook.:)

Presidential has slightly more room than deluxe and is in a better building..1 and 2 bedroom had virtually the same amount of living room space. There is a clubhouse and patio for bbq for larger hanging out areas.

In theory VIP can request rooms, in practice this is not always implemented at the resort like it should be. I have put room request in, the system let me do it, and yet they have no idea about it when I get to the resort.

That some, some resorts are better than others about room requests.

I have had luck with San Antonio and Austin, which I frequently stay at. Bonnet Creek used to be better about requests, but I have not had luck with them lately.

The last request I put in at Bonnet Creek (for Christmas of 2017) was given to us. Granted, it wasn't an overly specific request (lagoon view, Tower 4 or 5) but we asked for and got it in Tower 5.

We're headed down there next month...and I will be requesting the same thing. We'll see if we get it!
