Has anyone stayed at Marriott Rome Grand Flora hotel recently? Years ago they had a wonderful rooftop breakfast buffet that was included in the room rate Now it looks like there are breakfast packages but not available using Bonvoy points. Wondering what recent experiences have been?

I’d be interested in hearing an update, too…it’s been probably 10 years since we have stayed at the Grand Flora. Now we usually get the best bang for our buck or points at the Le Meridian, so stay there…their suites are great for families, and a full huge buffet breakfast for elite members. But the Grand Flora, and that rooftop breakfast was, well….grand, yes, very, very grand indeed!!!

We were there about 2 years ago and the buffet breakfast for plat and above was still available. Or by charge if not. Great views all around with the Aurelia wall right behind. Also service was awesome up there at Grand Flora buffet.

Will be back next june for 3 nights at Grand Flora and then 5 nights at Westin Excelsior next door. I wanted to try the Westin next door for the hot tub to soak my tired feet.

LeMeridian rome breakfast buffet is better than Grand Flora? How is the Westin Excelsior breakfast buffet compared to Grand Flora?

Does LeMeridian rome have a hot tub?

I did not write this review, but it is interesting…we have stayed multiple times at the Le Meridian in the Terrace Suite, which is the third one she talks about with pictures…it’s always nice to have pictures I think. Also, there is one Terrace on the top floor that has a small single connection room, so we were able to secure that, too, so it became a two bedroom, and we all were able to fit! 😊 The Terrace Suite has a big bathroom with both a separate shower and a big soaking tub. It’s really great. But it’s not a jacuzzi tub(which I actually am glad….i like soaking tubs better). https://www.journeyofdoing.com/le-meridien-visconti-rome/
We have also stayed in a junior suite and the big one bedroom suites at the Grand Flora, but prices sky rocketed over the years, as did the size and number of our kids! Lol! So hence, the switch to Le Meridian. What is funny is that Le Meridian used to be the Visconti Palace Hotel, where I stayed 31 years ago on my first trip to Rome! When we were scrambling for a place with a family of five, and couldn’t swing the Grand Flora, how delighted I was to see that Marriott had bought the Visconti Palace, remodeled and rebranded as Le Meridian, and we could use our points there!

We stayed at the Grand Flora for several nights in May using our points and were given the rooftop breakfast buffet. It is a beautiful location and the cold buffet was good, but the hot foods were disgusting. Although they were in chafing dishes, the eggs, meats, etc were cold. And ordering off the menu was pitiful ... the eggs Benedict were 2 quail size eggs on baguettes with some hollandaise sauce (no meat). My husband's waffles were 3 mini waffles, suitable for a 5 year old.

Wow what a change from our experience 2 years ago. The hot buffet was more than adequate and a little better than a cruise line buffet. Certainly food was not piping hot like made to order but not cold either.

I do not need a big suite as it is just my wife and I. But I do like a good tub with jets or bubbles to soak the feet that has walked miles that day.

Not exactly on answer to your specific question but the Grand Flora is a fantastic property. Maybe depending on your status (Platinum, etc) breakfast is included? I wouldn’t make that a dealbreaker, though.
