Am wondering if these are ever able to be snagged with DP's or always booked with owner weeks?

I have had decent success booking Ritz Carlton St. Thomas with points -- it's most often 13 months out from reservation, but occasionally I can sight availability at other windows.

Best,

Greg

I am heading to Ritz Vail in June on points, booked a year in advance. Also know someone currently at Ritz in San Fran on points.

I've been able to book San Francisco, Tahoe and Vail on points - some within a month or two of anticipated check in date. I've not found it to be any more difficult than certain other MVC properties.

Thanks guys, just didn't want to be wasting my time searching for something elusive!!

We have twice been able to book San Francisco using points.

This is one of the best benefits (to us) of higher MVCI ownership levels (executive+), easier access to these properties which generally provide great value compared to cash rates.

We have always booked using points.

Most available is SFO, followed by Vail, then Tahoe, St. Thomas and last Aspen.

Have the advantage of booking 13 months out.
Some units [especially Aspen & Tahoe] disappear within hours of the 13 month window opening up.
Have noticed that the Ritz SFO is better value than the Marriott SFO based on size.

I have booked San Francisco twice now and currently enjoying St Thomas for 2 weeks. We have the ‘suite’ which only has a kitchenette and 2 bathrooms. Getting the conventional 2 BR and 2 1.2 bath has been far more difficult to book here.

I just completed an 8 night stay in a 2BR over Spring Break/Easter week (very busy week) at the Ritz Lake Tahoe. A few years ago, I had an 8 night stay at the Ritz St Thomas in a conventional 2BR in the summer. I will be staying at the Ritz San Francisco over Mother’s Day weekend. These reservations were booked at about 8 months out except for San Francisco, which was booked about 4 weeks out so I got 30% off points. My 5 year old daughter thinks Ritz crackers are Ritz Carlton crackers LOL.

In St. Thomas, we have always booked the 2BR-Suites in the past [at least 4 times] because they always came with Breakfast for all.
Breakfast was offered because the kitchens in the 2BR Suites were smaller. Ended up better than staying at Frenchman's Cove where we used to stay prior to finding out about the Ritz.
However, after the hurricane they seemed to have stopped the free breakfast.

Have a 3BR booked for Aug-2021 for the first time.

If you are flexible with your dates - 13 months out - it is possible
