Thanks to another TUG member, I read just a short time ago about the passing of Lisa back in December.

I am very happy to have known Lisa personally along with working with her regularly on many Timeshare related issues, and am truly saddened to read about her death.

As there are so very few who work towards helping educate owners and expose the truly ugly side of this industry, the timeshare community will simply not be the same without her.

Rest in Peace Lisa, I am thankful for all that you have done to help owners!

Well that’s not good news

Darn. She was helpful for sure, without being as crazy as another of the crusaders.

A big loss as a consumer advocate in the industry. I recall reading Timeshares for Dummies (which she wrote) before we bought our first timeshare in the late 2000s. I beleive she started out working in the industry, in sales maybe?

I read her book. RIP.

Indeed a loss and will be missed greatly. She was a real pioneer, educating newbies (and experienced owners) about the nuances of timeshare ownership. Diane and I were very fortunate to have met her and that she embraced our start up brokerage business way back in 2005. She was always there to help and loved her passion and enthusiasm. She now rests in the arms of God, and would like to express our sympathies, condolences and blessings to her family.

Sad news. Sort of strange that there was a 5 month delay in TUG receiving this news due.

I posted it the same day the news was shared with me.

I think it comes down to the fact that most here are not immediate family members or close acquaintances. Direct family and friends may or may not post something on the deceased's social media pages. In this case it was just that I saw she hadn't put up a blog post since December and hadn't tweeted since the same time. These were her social media pages dedicated to her business, not sure if she had personal pages as well where it could have been announced.

For many here on TUG, we will all just stop posting some day and if others notice, someone will do a search to see what happened. For many though, when we inevitably pass on, our posts will stop and we won't be heard from again.

Unless someone provides someone else a specific directive, either in their will or otherwise, nothing is ever posted to the person's social media about their passing.

Brian, thanks for sharing this news. Lisa was a great help to me over the years. She helped many people, which her family should be proud of. May she rest in peace.
