Any one have any idea about how Rio Mar is divided up between Club Wyndham Plus/Margaritaville in terms of inventory?

"CLUB WYNDHAM® Access Resort, Margaritaville Vacation Club® Resort, CLUB WYNDHAM® Plus Resort"

It doesn't say "limited number of accommodations, yet no matter when I check for inventory, it says there isn't any.

I own only resale points, but I shouldn't be blocked out because I'm still a part of "Club Wyndham Plus"

There's tons of recent reviews on Trip Advisor, so its open. What gives?

It might not say limited inventory (overall), but there may certainly be limited CWP/CWA inventory. Rio Mar is a Margaritaville resort and most rooms are reserved for owners of that resort, or VIP owners.

It's open, I'll be there at the end of February. Availability issues could be a combination of both your ownership type and availability for certain categories of units. I'd call Wyndham and ask them your question as I (VIP-G) see quite a bit of availability.

Margaritaville points are only good for a few resorts if you buy them resale correct? I've seen a couple contacts on Ebay.

Margaritaville points have Margaritaville booking privileges and at 10 months have normal booking privileges at other resorts. So points are points at 10 months. This isn't true about booking Margaritaville with regular points but it true about Margaritaville points at other resorts. The same is true with Presidential reserve points. At 10 months they can be used to book like regular points even if regular non VIP and non presidential reserves can't book all presidential reserve units at 10 months.

Margaritaville can only be booked with VIP accounts. It isn't open to "regular" accounts whether purchased from wyndham or resale. It says it somewhere in the owners guide on the Rio Mar page.

In the original post I quoted that it's a part of CWA and CWP as well. They need to add the wording "limited number of accommodations" to the resort page.

It is open to regular non VIP accounts that are using points deeded at one of the Margaritaville properties. Just as there are resale presidential reserve deeds owned now by resale owners that don't have any other platinum perks they can still book using their deeded priority which would otherwise require you to be a platinum or other level VIP. So if you have and are using deeded Margaritaville you can book Margaritaville even it not VIP. If you are deeded and using presidential reserve points you can book presidential reserve even if not VIP. .... And at 10 months also use them at the regular Wyndham resorts.

On top of everything else Wyndham can and has in the past made Margaritaville reservations open to everyone even with non VIP resale only accounts. Wyndham is not obligated to make this available to "regular" (non VIP and non Margaritaville owners) but can choose to do so and if they do "regular" members are free to book.

The Wyndham site repeats inventory 3 different ways .. units listed as 'Rio Mar', then similar units listed again as 'Rio Mar Margaritaville' and finally 'Rio Mar Margaritaville Presidential Reserve'.

We are vip and booked for late May early June this year. I noticed before the 10 month mark that inventory consisted of mostly Studios which I believe were in the 'Rio Mar' inventory available due to our CWA deed. Then at 10 months more unit types opened up which I believe were available to us due to being VIP.

BTW there are no 2BR units in the resort .. only studios, 1BR (deluxe and presidential) and 3BR presidential.

So I have 2 reservations: one is 3 bedroom Presidential Ocean view and the other is 3 bedroom Presidential Ocean view Margaritaville Vacation Club. Are we going to have to move?

I was looking at availability last night and I cannot see any availability at all for 3 bedroom units. Does anyone else see 3 bedrooms as available? I'm CWA VIPP at present.

All kinds of limited availability for a 3BR, but it won’t let me book. IT is probably up to something.

Yep, that's what I'm seeing, limited availability, cannot book no matter what I try and do.

It is strange that I can see plenty of inventory for August, but it will only let me book certain days. It might let me book a Saturday - Wednesday or a Tuesday - Friday. Sometimes it is a studio and sometimes a 1 bedroom.

I cant imagine that the resort has many reservations for late August, so the availability makes no sense. Plus Puerto Rico is not on its feet yet, I am sure they having trouble filing the resort. If I cant book the resort because I don't have a Margaritaville account, then I should see nothing. Why the sporadic units?

There are 8 PR units in Rio Mar, 4 1 bedroom and 4 3 bedrooms.
