I am having him call because I think the people at Vistana are tired of hearing from me today.

Three telephone calls, first person disconnected me, probably an accident, but his name was Miguel. His name sounded like Miguel, but I remember that Marvann (supervisor) told me they have no Miguel. Who knows what he is saying? Then I called Carlos, explained the issue with the $10 ARDA fee still showing due and my hesitancy to pay the SBR fees ahead because they will keep the $10. He kept telling me that the $10 due was my maintenance fees, not the ARDA fee. I explained to him calmly and nicely that the fees due were $1305.13, and I paid that amount, but the $10 is showing as due. He told me that I had to pay $1,370+ to book my week for next year. Nope. The new fees haven't been made known to owners, no statements for 2026 are on any of my weeks. Why is he billing $1,370+? He said that is the amount due. According to whom? What is he looking at? I told him I need him to talk to someone in accounting or a supervisor. He refused to talk to anyone. I told him we were at an impasse, so I would try to call back and get someone else and told him to have a nice day.

Called back, got Angelina, and she understood immediately what the issue was, saw we paid the $1,305.13 for 2025 and that the $10 shouldn't be due. She said she will have accounting take that money off and to watch for it to be removed over the course of the next few days. We were going to lunch and wasted so much time talking to Miguel and Carlos, it was frustrating.

I cannot believe we are still dealing with this ARDA issue, and it's not a problem with every one of the contracts, only a couple of them. It's like a stubborness on the part of accounting that they show that $10 in red due. If I pay my MF's in advance to book Sheraton Broadway Resort for next year, I know they will keep the $10 illegally (without my say). I paid hundreds of dollars in years past in ARDA fees because they kept the fee when I paid in advance, a requirement for booking the next year's weeks. I don't have to do that with Westin or with Sheraton Desert Oasis, just SBR.

What a bunch of nonsense. The only bright spot it is stories like this that discourages people from buying timeshares and lets us buy resale for cheap.
