Resorts Owned
Massanutten, Wyndham, WorldMark, Vistana, Marriott Los Sueños, Vidanta, Flora Farms, HGVC Max, and some independents
From the Annual Meeting Notice for The Quin:

We're extremely excited to share that we have a tenant for our restaurant space on the corner of 57th and 6th Avenue, which we anticipate opening around Q4 of 2023. The restaurant will offer a wide variety of food, but will primarily focus its cuisine on Mediterranean flavors.

That great news, I have not stayed at, or even seen the Quin yet, but really like with the hotel / timeshare has some onsite food and beverage.

I think this is one thing I would like HGVC properties to have more of. I know they have food available, but I would like more than chicken tenders and fries and the like. Even if you rent out the space, it would be nice to have the option of eating at the resort.

There used to be an independently owned restaurant in that space that closed when everything shutdown. I'm not sure if there was any type of relationship between the restaurant and The Quin when it opened, but the letter is phrased as though the space being rented out belongs to the HOA. Looking forward to further details - it'd be nice to be able to charge to the room, for example.

Reminds me of the old joke about making $1M in the restaurant business. Start with $2M. I continue to be amazed by locations that have a long history of failed restaurants, but there’s always someone that thinks they have the magic formula to make it work there. I joke with friends that I wouldn‘t open a restaurant with thier money, let alone my own. Very tough busines.

Sir Richard Branson said something very much the same about the airline industry. But the scale was several orders of magnitude larger :)

Cheers.
