I am looking to buy a resale timeshare to use for trading in RCI one year and to use for my DH and myself the second year, on and off, etc.

I am interested in finding a resort that offers either free golf with the week or discounted golf. I am having a hard time finding information on this.

Any info anyone can give to help get me started would be great. I am looking in the eastern and southeastern U.S. area.

Appreciate any help given.

Thanks,
Diane :hi:

A multi week per year Oak Timbers UDI ownership in Wisconsin Dells has free :cheer: greens fees and free :cheer: ski lift tickets only for immediate family members that live in the owners home but not for their renters or exchangers.

Over the years at TUG, I have read that some of the Hilton Head locations have 'free golf'.

Then, when you go on to read more, you learn that you must pay cart fees---often in the range of $30+ per person.
(Perhaps golfers who pay greens fees without any discount can chime in on how much cart fees + greens fees are WITHOUT a timeshare discount).

I have read of such a discount involving the following
(please verify before considering this info as gospel):

Marriott Heritage
Port Royal (not sure exactly which one(s))
Island Links

In Williamsburg, I have read of a similar offering at Marriott
Ford's Colony----6 free rounds of golf for the week---but you will need to pony up the cart rental fees there, too.

Thank you!

Thank you to all for your help and guidance. This is a good start for me to investigate further.

Appreciate it,

I believe the following resorts also have golf privileges for owners:

Marriott's Manors Club in Williamsburg
Coral Reef at Hilton Head
Spinnaker at Shipyard

Ellington at Wachesaw offers free golf to owners staying on property. It is located in Murrells Inlet...South of Myrtle Beach.

Mystic Dunes.

Mystic Dunes timeshare resort (formerly Wyndham Palms) down in Kissimmee FL near Orlando has its own golf course on site.

There are several timeshare resorts on Hilton Head Island that include free green fees (and free tennis court time). The cart fees are significantly less than what you would pay out of pocket for both green and cart fees combined. However, keep in mind, these are not REALLY free, because you pay for them through maintenance fees. When you look at the break down of your yearly fees, you will see a line item for the golf and tennis. So I guess it's pay now or pay later (although, if you play at least 3 times a week, it will be cheaper in the long run).

Seascape on the NC Outer Banks offers free golf at the adjacent Seascape Golf Course for owners, but NOT for exchangers or renters.

fyi--for waterside you must be #1 or #2 buyer

golf package transfers for free to 1st buyer after original buyer (from developer). After that it is $1000 to transfer.
