My fiancée and I are looking for a timeshare. We really like The Driftwood Inn on Vero Beach; however, it's been difficult to find a timeshare there the week we want.

Can anyone suggest a similar resort: small, on the beach, quiet, no high rises - that sort of thing?

I've looked for hours online but I'm starting to think there isn't anything else like that out there.

Thanks,
Tracy

Years' ago we stayed at Sea Oats, right on Engelwood Beach (Gulf Coast) and really enjoyed it. Small resort, quiet area. Other Tuggers will almost certainly have stayed in the area since I have and would be able to advise more appropriately.

Las Olas at Satellite Beach or Las Olas at Cocoa Beach are small resorts that are ocean front. The developer's family manages the resorts so there is a lot of pride in the resort. If you wish, you can get to become very good friends with the guests who are on property with you and they have good family activites. Go to www.beachclubs.com to view the resorts.

Club Regency on Marco Island. As long as you get a unit in the E building, especially on the second floor. Direct Gulf of Mexico view, 2 story building, no elevators, only 30 something units in the whole place, covered parking under your unit. Nice group of people who love the place so much they don't deposit their weeks and trade. You become part of the "family" for your week because the owners come back year after year rather than trade. End units on the second floor of E building are most desirable because of the panoramic view of the beach. Hey, I happen to have one of those for sale!

I think Vero Beach is East Coast. You are getting recommendations for West Coast. If a one bedroom right on a nice wide beach in a resort with only 13 units; easy walk to fishing pier and 4 or 5 nice restaurant bars (two of which are right on the beach) is what you want, I vote for Berkshire Beach Club in Deerfield Beach. Deerfield Beach is North of Fort Lauderdale and South of Boca Raton.
