Has anyone heard of this chair or tried one? Just saw it on tv and it looks like a great way to exercise without having to go to a gym or have big bulky equipment in your home. Would like to hear pros and cons if any. Thanks. Linda

It looks and sounds more like a 5 minute wonder gimmick than a serious piece of exercise equipment.
What really amused me on their site was this testimonial :-

"If you are looking for a home-based chair exercise program, the Resistance Chair is the answer!"
- Mary K. Swanson, Founder of SilverSneakers

Um, the market is absolutely flooded with 'home-bases chair exercise programs' as we all know ;), so there are masses of alternatives to compare it to, aren't there??
It looks very much like "Here is the answer, now what is the question?"

I purchased many different kinds of home exercise equipment like the Jane Fonda walker, the Health Rider, ab builders, etc. without much success. Usually they were made of cheap material or were tremendously boring to use. We have wicked winters here so rather than going to a gym I finally bought a good quality treadmill, set it up in front of the TV and usually use it every morning before work. Not a decorator's dream I guess but my doctor likes it. :)
