Hey all! Brand new Wyndham owner here. Perhaps I'm not understanding something - but I'm under the impression that when booking a reservation within 14 days prior to arrival - you can book a one night minimum stay. I am seeing availability at Club Wyndham Park City, but every date within the next two weeks is requiring me to do a two night stay minimum. What am I not grasping? Thanks in advance!

No more one night reservations. 2 night stay is the new minimum.
It changed around November 1st

That used to be the case prior to Covid-19. Because it cost Wyndham too much to do a clean after only a one night stay they did a way with it. Who knows once Covid-19 is a bad memory they might bring it back? It was a handy perk.

With the new housekeeping credit structure, it will be hard to do and not run out. I liked a 1 night stays at clearwater in a 1 BR PR reserve unit for 39,000 points and 63,000 HK credits.....but now I need to splurge and book 10 months out if I ever want to stay on the timeshare side of the resort. I think I'll just blow all of my Wyndham reward points I get from updates there now instead lol.

Can you tell me more about these updates? They offer members to come down and listen to a sales pitch and offer incentives like Wyndham Reward (hotel) points?

dang! Appreciate the help! Saw that they changed HK credits - but did not get the memo on the 1 night min. changing.

Unrelated - but anyone else having issues accessing RCI right now? As soon as I hit "Continue to RCI" on the Wyndham site, it immediately loads the RCI site with this error,
"You've been logged out
You were gone for a while so, to protect your security, you were logged out. Please return to your club to login again."

Might be because Resale just closed? Does it take awhile for them to get RCI set up?

So every time you book a stay at one of the resorts, they always pester you to do an "update", so the trick is to attend them for 30,000 reward points for $40 and just make sure you intimidate the sales people by knowing your *bleep* when you're at them lol. Mine usually take less than 30 minutes because I talk about my resale strategy and owning within multiple systems (resale only). I usually tell them I'm getting a Worldmark resale contract and will just use Bonus time instead of spending a bunch on VIP benefits.. I also found it's quicker telling them you also own Marriott DC trust points and just use your Marriott ownership for short stays, so you don't need extra housekeeping tokens (a perk of VIP) and purchasing retail points is a waste of money because it would take at least 20-30 years to break even based on your vacationing habits and money saving tricks you already have by owning in multiple systems. A single night at Clearwater is 30,000 points, so 1 update = $200 saved on a room on the hotel side of Clearwater per night. If you go to Disney a lot, the Wyndham Garden that's a 5 min walk from Disney Springs only costs 15,000 points, so 1 update = 2 nights for $40 (which you pay before you attend the update).

You have to call to set up your RCI if you just got your ownership. Also congrats on saving a bunch of money. DVC is so stupidly expensive compared to Bonnet Creek. Try staying in a 2 bedroom Presidential Reserve unit at Bonnet Creek during the value season right before Christmas, then stay in a Poly studio at the same time of the year and compare. The poly studio is still about $300 more a week when you factor in the initial resale purchase + annual dues cost. You can still eat at all the restaurants at the DVC resorts and get your theming fix without being crammed into a dinky studio all week.

Don't you get the $40 refunded after you attend? I've never paid more than $20 and it has always been refunded. Wyndham Reward points are nice if you can tolerate the update. Sounds like you do well at schooling the weasels.

Actually it changed in early September.

We’re in Panama City beach Wyndham and they keep calling asking if we’re interested. We have a minim of $200 gift to attend.

The only worthwhile gift is 30,000 Wyndham Reward points nowadays. The $200 is usually crappy dining coupons

Go for more than 30k WR, some places will actually go higher nowadays, especially since Wyndham keeps moving more and more hotels into the 30k/night category based on season. We now routinely ask for 60k WR and have gotten this amount at two different resorts without much effort.

Do they charge you for 60k or just give it out? Which resorts?

IME at two resorts - it was the gift given for attending an update. TOTG and NH in my case.

I was offered $100 Tango rewards card at Sea Gardens and $100 Amex at the Las Vegas Boulevard Worldmark location. At the Worldmark location I was able to get them to give my Uncle $100 Amex also and he is on the Wyndham do not tour list. Both were less then 1 hour and sales were actually very pleasant to deal with. They offered to sell me more points so I would have the travel share benefits of buying developer. The same old buy more points to rent and pay all maintenance fees pitch.

Was this issue ever resolved for you? If so, what did you do?
I have this same error. Have had an open ticket for over a month and still can’t access RCI. Very frustrating.

I’m assuming you have cleared your browser cache and cookies to ensure this isn’t a cache issue yes? If not, give that a try.

Yes, I have. I’ve also tried on on my phone, laptop, desktop, on Chrome, Firefox, safari and still have the same issue.

It was eventually resolved, yes. It took over a month and speaking with several Wyndham reps. Was yours a resale?

What landed him on the do not tour list?

Mine was just resolved. Apparently someone at Wyndham had block my access to RCI - no reason given. Took 2 phone calls and several emails but it’s now working again.

He got into it with a rude salesman at The Wyndham Grand Desert. The sales weasels were a little to aggressive and insulting that day so he called them out. He literally asked them to go outside so he could beat their a$$es. Funny thing is when we travel together I get invited to attend as a resale buyer and I always ask them if my Uncle could also attend as he is a VIP owner. They always say yes until they look up his info. Not sure how he sneaked in on my coat tail while in Vegas on my Worldmark reservation. It seems that Worldmark has no info connecting me to my old Wyndham account number and my past ownership history was ghosted when I exited my Wyndham ownership.
