This has now happened to me on two stays in a row, so I think it’s a “thing” now, so I thought I’d post about it to hopefully prevent others from freaking out the way I did the first time it happened.

All of my MVC and Vistana reservations always appear under “Trips” on the Marriott Hotels (Bonvoy) site pretty much immediately after they are made. But on my stay last month, and again for an upcoming stay next week, about a week before the check-in date, the reservation completely disappears from the Bonvoy site. When this happened last month it was actually three back-to-back reservations which all disappeared, and I was in a panic thinking that my reservations had somehow been cancelled (they hadn’t.)

My theory is that they’re doing something new during the room assignment process (a week or so before the stay) which results in the disappearance of the reservations. I don’t know if this will happen at all properties or just specific ones (in my case, both stays have been at Westin Desert Willow.) I just know this hasn’t happened in the past. Now that I know to expect it, it’s not a big deal, and if you know the Marriott reservation number, you can re-add the reservation to your Bonvoy account so that it shows up again.

By the way, this has happened on every type of reservation, including Club Points (Abound), a Vistana internal network booking (VSN), and an Encore Package stay. So I don’t think it’s related to how the reservation was booked.

So don’t be panicked if your reservation vanishes on Marriott's (hotel) site before arrival… go to the MVC site and you’ll still see your reservation there. Just another oddity of the world-class IT at MVC and Marriott…

What I was told last month when this happened to me was if there are multiple reservation numbers ( like you're staying 2-3 weeks) at the time they assign rooms they put the reservation under a single reservation number.

But it also happened on my reservation for next week, which is just a single reservation. So I don't think it's related.
