Rescinding HIVC

I have a question about rescinding our contract with HIVC. I see mention of people sending all their documents back with a cancellation letter, other send a letter, and others send the cover page of the contract. We purchased on 1/3/25 and I sent two copies of my letter today 1/10/25. We are within the 10 day period. My letter included mine and my wife's name, address, phone number, addressed to them at the name and address in the cancellation portion of the contract, and I included my contract number with current date on it. I sent them priority and a copy certified.

The cancellation portion of the contract does not state that I need to include anything with the letter, just that under FL law I have 10 calendar days to cancel this contract without penalty and to do so I need to notify them in writing by sending a letter to them and it provides the address.

Should I send another copy with a copy of the cover page or do I need to make copies of the contract and send with it, or is what I sent sufficient?

Thanks

The cover page is not important; you referenced the contract number.

But did you both sign the rescission letter? If you both signed the purchase contract, you both need to rescind it.

Be sure to send it via a USPS trackable method so you have proof of the date it was Postmark and you will know that it was delivered. I always recommend certified mail.

Good move to rescind!

You are good to go. Take your wife out and celebrate. Party like it's 1999!

Then join TUG. $15/yr for all the info we share.

Sent 2 copies. One priority tracking without signature confirmation so they can't refuse delivery and a second copy certified mail with return receipt
